Jon Miller never learns. On WHO-TV at 6:30 tonite, he said Steele well NEVER have another game like he did last year against the Squawks. Other than that, he's not brimming with confidence, picking UofI to win by a point on a missed PAT. Let's hope Steele makes him eat his words!

So, I take it Mr. Miller didn't watch the Tulsa game?

Well honestly, HAS he had another game like he did? This Saturday he very well might (and it wouldn't surprise me in the least), but as of right now, it's not like Steele has been lighting up the world.

It was a once in a lifetime event....... ISU? a total fluke. Jantz? flash in the pan

oh wait. We're talking about the most deranged fanbase in the country.... never mind

“Based on how Tulsa bottled up Steele and that teams will prepare for his scrambling ability and his escapability, that part of his game that you saw a year ago, I don’t think will be there,” head coach Paul Rhoads*said on Monday. “He’s not going to break contain. He’s not going to go out of that pocket and create the things that he did a year ago. We’re going to have to execute our offense. We’re going to have to execute it very well to have an opportunity to stick around in this football game.”

Yeah, what a fool.

Steele vs. Iowa last year:

25-37 (68%), 279 yards, 7.5 yards/completion, 4 TDs (1 in OT), 0 INTs

Steele vs. Tulsa this year:

32-45 (71%), 281 yards, 6.2 yards/completion, 2 TDs, 1 INT

Very comparable numbers.

Well gee golly, I stand corrected.

Statistically speaking, he had a very similar game against Tulsa. It just wasn't as dramatic.

Career highs in yards and completion %

And you believe that Rhoads thinks that....

Repped AND liked. Tulsa got to Steele because they brought 6 or 7. If Ferentz, yes I said Ferentz, not Parker, has the ball sack to bring 6 or 7 they can get to Steele. Ferentz does not. Steele will run away from their 4 or 5 man rush like he did last year.

If Iowa has the heart to send a 6th guy this weekend, I stand corrected. I don't think they have it in them.

It was ISU' Superbowl

Tate knocked himself out

Brad Banks had hand cramps

Our black jerseys overheated our players

If only the Hawks played you late in the season

If only the Hawks played you earlier in the season (2001)

Iowa gave away the game > 2011
(even though ISU fumbled three times in the Red Zone and should of won by 14)

Iowa doesn't care about this game

Iowa players take a 'business-like' approach

It's O'Keefe's fault

It's Bushs' fault

:twitcy:good gawd....these people amaze me

I don't know that he WILL have another game like that. That was nearly flawless QB play...similar to what Seneca did to iowa in 2002. Thing is, he doesn't NEED to have that type of game for ISU to win plenty of contests, including this Saturday. The other thing is that Jantz has started seven games total in his career, four healthy. So there isn't exactly a big sample size.

Jon just doesn't watch enough non-B1G college football. You know, football with good QBs.

I'm not sure we're going to be able to run 31 bubble screens this weekend.

Steele will need to throw down field more often this weekend. It should be interesting. If the run game clicks and Steele throws no more than 1 int, I like our chances.

You forgot that the "jumbotron kept the fans in the game late."
