I have a number of places I like to stand. I usually like to see a couple of groups go through while I'm standing between holes 7 and 8. I enjoy sitting on the hill in the shade on hole 14 and see guys attempting to drive the green.

sit in a grandstand you can watch everyone in the tournament, i will be there Saturday and Sunday in the vip tent

On the right side (as the hole plays) of #6 tee. You stand above the tee and can see the tee shots great. There is hardly anyone up there as most people stay on the cart path below the tee. The spot is easily accessed from walking to the back right of #9 green.

I'm not going but I'm playing Deere Run next weekend. I highly reccomend it. It's cheap for a course of that caliber.

Watch for former ISU golfer (2012-2014) Zach Steffen of Des Moines in his first PGA tour event.

Sorry, no tips for the OP, but what a great year to go! I hope future years have the reigning U.S. Open and Masters champ playing. Also saw that Bill Murray was hamming it up in the pro-am today. The Deere Classic's unfortunate timing right before The Open seems to handicap it, but its nice to see a couple big names playing it this year.

Wear sunscreen. LOTS of sunscreen.

My favorite place to sit is at the green on 5. Great place to sit and watch the guys take their second shot on the green. Plenty of trees and a concession stand right behind the stands.

I've walked the course with a pairing before and it is very difficult -- I wouldn't recommend it. If you try to follow a big namer you might as well forget about it. The crowds are big and slow enough that you wont even catch up to their second shot before they've moved on.

Amazing golf by Spieth today. 61!

Was there to watch his eagle on 17 and video his birdie on 18, glad he went to JDC vs. all the people saying he shouldn't while in hunt for Grand Slam with Majors. Always great place to watch and hats off to John Deere offering a chartered jet to Eurpoe for British Open to keep players involved with this tournament.

Today we experianced Jordan's best round in his young PGA career, sure more to come and hope you had fun there.

I saw a lot of these guys at the Zach Johnson classic and was really surprised at how slight some of them are, then watching them drive the ball like 300 yards.

First pro golf event, eh?

I went on Thursday. I was on the 1st tee when Zach Johnson teed off at 12:50, the crowd was about 20 rows deep. I expected most of the crowd would follow Zach and I would be able to move up to get a closer look at Jordan who teed off in the next group.

To my surprise most of the crowd stayed around to watch Jordan tee off. I followed Jordan the front nine and he had a very pedestrian round.

I can't believe the number of lip outs Zach has had in the tournament.

Ha! It really is wild how small so many of those guys are. I was a volunteer at the first tournament I ever saw and that was the most noticeable thing. I'm 6' 2", 195 lbs and I counted five guys that looked bigger than myself - out of 155. The amount of power they generate is incredible.

Would love to see Deere Run host a major event at some point (other than the John Deere Classic), but it's probably not a difficult enough course to warrant a major event.

They need to toughen it up for this event.
