Per Travis Hines on Twitter, ISU has offered the first scholarship to Joe Wieskamp, a 6' 5" 2018 Wing from Muscatine. It also mentions he will be ranked the No. 1 prospect in 2018 at the next PrepHoopsIA update.

There are two other freshman big time prospects from iowa that year. Kid at dowling and a kid at waukee. I would be suprised if we didnt offer both.

From the sounds of it, Iowa has been recruiting him for a while too so I'm sure an offer will be coming!

I would rather have the two other 2018 recruits in the dsm area if i am being honest and yes i have seen all 3 play. Maybe the staff has not seen the other two guys play yet.

Kid is going to continue to grow. Will prob enter college 6'8 or so. He's only going to be a sophomore this year. Has long arms. 2018 Iowa will produce 4-5 legit div 1 kids. At least. Need to start offering some.

A very good player obviously but two things. Slow jump shot. Athleticism needs to continue to improve but he is young.

I trust fred. He knows more than I ever will about bb talent.

Nope, he'll get fired the year before and joe will love the new head coach.

Just spoke with a few people about him. Most likely an Iowa lock if he stays in state. Or if something happens over there like a new coach. Never know though.
