Jay Jordan: This Game Matters

Dline may have to play their best game of the year. Not just disruptive, but staying in lanes, pursuit, etc.

If ISU can bottle up what they did for the first 1.5 quarters of the Texas game and do that for 4 quarters, they have a chance.

Another good writeup from JJ. And a sobering one as well.

There is always the talk about those beneficial extra 15 practices. I would love to see the benefits gained from those practices exhibited in this game.

Beating a college football blueblood would be big on the recruiting trail and a confidence builder to current roster.

I will be curious to see if Heacock makes some adjustment to our in-box personnel. KSU did a great job of outflanking our defense in the run game.

The other area where the staff needs to be creative is use of a spy. If we spy Book that basically takes a defender out of the game a high % of time. Personally, would rather see us bring pressure and keep pass lane discipline vs. using a spy.

As usual, Jay, your analysis is stone cold. Hard to argue with any of it.

Your conclusion especially. I think we lose by 7-8 points based on what I've seen during the season. If I was a betting man (I'm not, for the record), I would have ND covering the spread.

I will be extremely happy to be proven wrong, and will be watching the game and rooting for my 'Clones!
