Jason Kidd to be Nets Head Coach?

Completely crazy idea, but as a Nets fan and J Kidd being my all time favorite player, I can't say I'm upset. Very interested to see how it will work. The Nets have talent so that will win them games, but will coaching be enough to take them to the next level? The Nets are banking on the idea that the PG is pretty much the coach on the floor, and if that rings true then they have got themselves the best pure PG in recent history.

While this is a surprise hire, Jason Kidd has basically been an assistant coach as a player over the later part of his career, and if any player can make this immediate jump, it is a player like Jason Kidd who has been running teams for several years and done it with multiple teams.

I'm not a big basketball guy, but always loved watching Jason Kidd play. He strikes me as the type of player that would transfer really well into coaching. I dig it.

At least he snared Lawrence Frank as his lead assistant to help him out as he makes the transition from player to coach. I'm still not totally sold, but we've all seen firsthand how a crazy move like this can pay off.
