If either this years, or last years football games were in Ames,
We would have won!

Jamie Pollard is responsible for selling out on this one.
$750,000 x2 plus on money,
0 - 2 on wins.
I love Jamie, but this was not a good decision.

Austin may have not gunned it, when we were about to tie it,
and the penailties of jumping off sides would likely not have happened with
a more relaxed offensive line. and last years after point attemp would be good.

What do you think?

I knew someone would find a way to blame it on Jamie. I blame the Iowa loss on him as well. He should have came up with a better game plan for Iowa. Freakin Pollard

I think you are on crack.

JP is not playing in the game. He is not quaterbacking....he is not playing on the D-Line.

on crack.

we get paid each year for this game .... seems rev neutral or better IMO.

-keep.

I think good teams win wherever they play.

I'm sorry boys...but I've got to support Jamie Pollard on this one....The money from these games are more important than winning a home game....

This Athletic Department is desperate for money and this is one way to get money that you cant make by playing a home game.

Are we seriously blaming JP because our defense can't give up less than 7 yards on a run play? Seriously? It was a neutral site for the love of pete....:skeptical:

I like the idea of trying it once, I like the idea of trying to build a rivalry with KSU, but I don't think I want to do it again.

And if we win them he is a genius...Goes both ways. If given the chance to do this again I hope we jump on it...helps with marketing recruiting budgeting ect.

Would your opinion change if we won one or both of these games? You can't predict the future...I say we do it again if possible. It helps in so many ways. We can control the money coming in from it and all, but can't control the on game stuff.

Honestly I love the idea of developing a rivalry game at a "neutral" location. With kNU leaving the XII, and the possibility of the Iowa series ending depending on what happens with schedules, we need a big rivalry game on the schedule, and I'm of the opinion that KSU makes a great rivalry, and playing it at a neutral location is good for recruiting, tv, and for the rivalry.

Plus who doesn't love a road trip!

It isn't JP's fault we lost. There is no proof we would have won either game if it were played in Ames.

That doesn't change the fact the decision to play these 2 games in KC was a silly decision. We took a direct financial hit and gave up a home game. It cost the local economy a good amount of money, also. And it did little for exposure that the game was available for syndication on regional sports networks. Either get ESPN on board with it or don't do it.

It shouldn't have been done. IMHO, Jamie only looks good right now because Freddie is undefeated as a head basketball coach.

I think the enthusiasm for it would generally go down, and attendance would dip more and more. Worst case scenario is that KSU gets back to their 90s form and it's two road games for us.

I am not upset at all by trying to do it once these past two years and I'm certainly not outraged at Pollard for trying to be creative with ways to build ISU football. I just don't think it's a good idea for a permanent thing. If we try it again 6-8 years down the road I'm cool with it.

yes , my opinion changes.
These were winable games.
Home field advantage would have carried the day.
These games were played one hour from Manhattan, Kansas and
4.5 hours from Ames.
It is similar to scheduling it in Des Moines.
I would have drove to Des Moines any day of the week,
and so would have 50,000 Cyclones.

I love Jamie Pollard,
but just like the Coach is responsible for a lose,
I think he should man up on this one.

I do not want to get rid of Jamie,
I am irritated with this one, and
Jamie is responsitble for crap.

Whats ISU record at JTS vs the Big 12? Its not like JTS is this huge home field advantage, its not Hilton.

Idiotic assumption.
