8. Amon Carter Stadium, TCU
Opened: 1929
Capacity: 45,000
2012 Attendance: 46,047 (48th)
The building is brand new and fans showed up in force last year (over capacity)

I went to the ISU-TCU game and it was maybe half full. Maybe they are using Kinnick's inflated ticket scanners at the gates.

It was more than half full.

Lots of empty seats though, for sure.

Maybe they have a tarp too and seats covered count?

I remember KSU not sellling out either despite a great team last year.

I find it interesting that hey are ranked in order of capacity (except for TCU)

We played them during the school's Fall Break with no students on campus. So half-full and a crappy day like that wasn't too bad.

Yeah... Can't wait for this fall's showdown when Kansas comes to Jack Trice on the first day of Thanksgiving break. Even if ISU is 5-5 at that point (or better), I don't think a game against a 2-8 squad will get the casual students to stick around.

I think it will be fine.

The start of Thanksgiving Break isn't that bad, its when the game is at the end of break, like WVU last year.

Especially if it's a day game, you could still be home for dinner on Saturday conceivably. What time do they lockdown the dorms for break?

Iowa State is home to one of the most underrated home atmospheres in the nation in a building named after Iowa’s first black athlete. The passion of the fans cannot be questioned as the Cyclones outdrew their capacity in 2012 on a team that barely reached the postseason the last two seasons. In the works are future expansions of the south end zone and east concourse. The move will upgrade the facilities across the board and will add an upper deck to the end zone. This isn’t the most daunting home field experience, but it has consistently over-delivered compared to its team success.

Must have done some really stellar research for this writeup... since, you know, that's been done for a few years.

No, their big butts counted as two people.

Yes but first year in the bog boy conference and the DFW metro having a population of 6.5 million, I thought the showing could have been better.
If ISU spent the money that they did on stadium improvements, I wouldn't be too happy about 25,000 people showing up to ANY game.
