I'm a fairly young Cyclone fan and have never seen this replay though I've been told about it many a time. Now....now I know why my brother was so ****** of about the outcome off that game....................

Even Bobby Bowden (later said he) thought it was a touchdown. The only one who didn't was the official standing at the goal line. Still makes me mad to think about it.


And I just realized the irony of having a Florida State graduate as my avatar (aside from being married to one).

I was at this game too. My buddies and I had tickets in the 1st or 2nd row, looking right down the goal line. I was literally 50 feet away from Seneca at the end of that play. Other than the ending, it was a fun time.

We still had one more shot at 1st and goal after that play. Decided to run an option with Seneca against that quick Florida State defensive line, and they stuffed it right away. I know we didn't have an experienced tank in the backfield like Koch or Woody that year (none of our RBs that year were particularly explosive) that we could just hand it off to, but damn... there had to have been other options.

I hadn't thought before how similar those plays were. And you're right, the refs would have sided with FSU probably :twitcy:
