Wallace Franklin was arrested early sunday morning on two misdemeanors, disorderly conduct and interference of official police acts. Doesn't sound like anything earthshaking, the article which was in the Iowa State Daily, just said someone had thrown a punch at Franklin, he returned the favor and then pulled away and didn't follow "verbal directions" when being handcuffed. It also says that Coach Chizik was made aware of the arrest and would be meeting with Franklin "soon". Again, not trying to stir the pot or anything but just thought the information should be passed on.

Re: ISU Reciever Arrested

Thanks for the info. If true...not good to hear. I hope (and have no doubt) he's punished appropriately.

Re: ISU Reciever Arrested

We learned a lot about McDermott in how he handled the Taylor situation. Now we'll see what Chizik does. His actions here might set the tone for team discipline in the future.

Yep I just read this in the Daily...Can't wait to see what come out of this...(of the team? Doubt it) but if not i'm sure we will be getting hammered by EIU fans...but I really could care less what they say...I'm sure Chizik will take care of it...

Re: ISU Reciever Arrested

I saw this in the daily early this morning, I'm surprised it hadn't been posted on here to this point.

For those of you keeping score at home, that's iowa 16, ISU 1.

Link????

Anyone got a link to any of this?

By the way, here come the EIU fans telling us how ISU isn't any better than they are.

> just thought the information should be passed on <

It's published information; yeah, I think it should be passed on, too.

This is about as minor as it can get, seems to me. It wasn't drunk and disorderly, apparently, so WF will be in Gene's doghouse for awhile and then can get on with it, hopefully. Unless there are other circumstances not yet publicly known, I guess.

Doesn't sound super serious, but he can't be throwing punches and getting involved with the police. Chizik needs to nip this in the butt and let the players know this won't be accepted. It is a slippery slope with this stuff. You know we don't wanna end up looking like you know who.

I don't know if this is Gene's first test. He did deal with an off-field issue or two last year from April. A couple of those guys are no longer here and at least one is still in uniform and played last fall.

It's impossible for me to sound like an eiu fan, since I am not an eiu fan. If merely expressing an assessment of a negative situation is to be categorized as eiu-like, heaven help us.

Notice, too, that I qualified my remark by saying that perhaps all details are not yet known.

Sounding like an eiu fan, indeed! Har-rumph! ;-)
