The team erased a considerable deficit on Saturday in the final round of their regional qualifying tournament by posting a team score of 270 (18 under par... a school record). The team posted final round individual scores of 66-66-68-70 to tie for 4th place and advance. It is the first time they have qualified for the NCAA Finals since 1953.

This is huge for both Men's & Women's Golf. Not many Northern schools have both teams in. Weather looks bad for the next week or so in Hutchinson. I was planning on going at least one day...

It certainly looks like the new golf facility that ISU built is paying off already.

Hopefully the weather will hold off and you'll get to go.

Also international recruiting.

Definitely. Tank has done a good job recruiting since he took over. Scott Fernandez will be on Tour in the not so distant future. That guy can play. It's hard to imagine as good as he is that Tank was able to get a guy with his level of talent to come from Spain to play at ISU.

I'm pretty sure he just recently got a commitment from another elite player from overseas.

There was a thread about this on Saturday and I mentioned in there for those who don't follow much golf that Nationals are going to be covered on Golf Channel all week long. Live coverage starts Friday I believe.

That's pretty awesome. Thank you for posting that.
