Got this nugget off today's World Herald giving NU fans choices for parking. How 'bout hanging out in a city garage where you can't tailgate, or hanging on to a parking meter as you gussle your Bud Light. Cyclone fans don't know how good we have it. I'd take the Haunted Forest over this any day:

"Public parking: City garages are available for game day parking, although those near the stadium fill up fast. Pre-paid spaces can be reserved up until the day before the game, though it's too late for today's game. No tailgate parties are allowed in city garages.
On-street parking: Lincoln now offers a $9 all-day hang tang to allow drivers to keep a metered space all day — if they find one. Buy them from blue-shirted Park & Go employees at city parking facilities. Up to 400 will be distributed."

Check out their basketball parking sometime. It's even worse.

Did that, and I know what you mean. Luckily the few games I witnessed in Duhvaney I got there via a bus trip with Cyclone Fans so I didn't have to worry about parking.

I understand they are replacing their current Butler building, so maybe their parking will improve - but the BBall won't.

Pending weather on 1/8, I plan to do it one last time. Then I'm finished with Devaney. Probably. Unless we surprisingly play non-conference games with them.

Iowa State fans should never complain about parking ever! The stadium is 2/3 surrounded by a parking lot that is large enough to accommodate parking for Hilton,Trice, Stephens and the gardens. Only one venue uses it at once. If that does not suit a tailgater then the parking lots are surrounded by acres and acres of flat grassland to park. I pulled into Ames at 6pm Thursday evening and found a spot to park and walk to the game in under ten minutes. That is unheard of in most venues. Try that with a stadium like Kinnick for example. Surrounded 2/3 by a hospital, and that is then surrounded by housing that is 2/3 owned by the hospital. UIHC does not help out tailgating one bit. Many houses have chains and fences in the front yard to prohibit cars from parking. We have it very, very easy.

Not true. Stephens frequently has large events at the same time as basketball games.

i can leave the stadium from my seat and be on I-35 in 15 minutes, thats 7 min to walk to my spot and 8 min to get out of my spot, out of Ames and heading South on I35 (13th st entrance ramp). That is unreal and I thank my lucky stars that I can do that.
