I coach in the Great Plains Conference of the NCWA (National Collegiate Wrestling Association) - the governing association for club wrestling teams across the country. While this is not the varsity team, I wanted to start a thread recognizing the ISU Wrestling Club Team. In their second year of competitive wrestling, they have the most entrants in the conference championships, and were conference champions. The majority of these guys were Iowa HS prep athletes, and solid kids who have been great to get to know. The ISU head coach is August Wesley, his son Anthony Wesley is on the varsity ISU roster.
Many of the guys on the team are ranked in the NCWA, and I expect that several of them will be NCWA All-Americans. Please cheer them on in the NCWA National Championships, to be held next week March 9-11 in Allen, TX. Results from our conference tournament are below:

While personally I hate to help an opponent team, and personally conflicted having two degrees from ISU, we are trying to grow the conference and the participation in our league. If you know of good wrestlers going to ISU who may not be able to crack the varsity lineup, this is an excellent opportunity I wish had existed when I was at ISU.
