ISU beating Iowa in practice facilities

FYI - Iowa is working on new practice facilities for football, and is doing some MAJOR renovations to Carver... which include practice facilities.

Isn't it cute the way that little brothers are always trying to keep up with their big brothers?

I'm surprised UI kept the bubble thing so long - with the number of bowl games they went to in the eighties you would have thought they would have had something built back then.

We talking bout practice. I mean Practice. Not a game......We talking about practice.

If we got Jack Trick completely done and upgraded Hilton then I would say we would have some of the finest facilities. Especially for the budget we have.

“At some point it needs to be replaced, but I don’t have people calling me on a regular basis saying, please do it now,†he said. “If someone did call me with that, obviously, I’d say, ‘If you send me the check, we’ll get started.’ "

Sounds similiar to how ISU is working on baseball.

The way America is moving right now I wouldn't be suprised if they brought back a Mens Soccer team before Baseball. Baseball in the north is brutal because they start so early. Dang Soccer is killing me. I have this wierd feeling that 50 years from now college soccer will be on a much bigger stage.

Side note. Iowa needs to lose the bubble...

i must say that i agree about the facilities. when i toured isu as an 'athlete' before coming here, i was really impressed with the facilities, especially because i had hardly even heard of iowa state before i visited. i toured other schools like mizzou (we beat in indoor field, but they win in training facilities) purdue, northwestern, and several small schools and the only one who impressed me almost as much as isu was illinois college.

The Big 12 will have to add men's soccer as a sport long before Iowa State will...

Thanks BVDV for getting this facility done and for having the vision to know it's importance also thanks for raising the funds for the new academic center.

I love how when the asked Ferentz about a new facility he commented that it was on his list but mentioned it's not a high list item.

I mean how are they going to keep paying his ridiculous salary if they are putting money into new facilities?!?! Will he not keep getting his raises?!?!

LOL, what's with the comparatively huge picture of Jamie Pollard with the caption "Jamie Pollard Facility needed" at the bottom of that article?

BVDV will forever be remembered as a very lack-luster and somewhat incompetent administrator. He had the vision of a fruit-fly and that has become all too obvious since we've taken steps to redo most of what he touched.

Of course, that's just my personal opinion.

I think a good use for the bubble would be to cover the field before tomorrow's game. My brother-in-law has a silage bag they can inflate to use as their new indoor practice facility.

No offense to your personal opinion, but I would argue with anyone that this is a FACT!
