This article is just the tip of the iceberg to as why Iowa St basketball will always be better to attend or watch on TV.

Better tradition in basketball = Better recruiting = better coaching = better players = long-term team/player commitments = competing for a natl championship

Hilton Coliseum > Jack Trice
better venue to play in = better fans = better media following = national exposure = actual chance to win a natl championship

GO STATE!

Yeah well, that's just like, your opinion, man.

I would trade 5 basketball ncaa titles for 1 football national championship. Football rules
I am just the opposite, I would trade 5 football championships for one basketball. Hate to say it but I am kind of favorable to women's bb and volleyball too. The truth is, we don't have to make those choices. Therefore, go football team, really like coach Rhoads. He is a credit to the University.

Why does the OP have an axe to grind with our football program? ISU football will always be king in the ISU athletic department.

I have learned that when it comes to sports and politics, predictions that include the words "always" or "never" should NEVER be used and ALWAYS be avoided.

During my time at ISU (04-08) I attended all but one football home game (went to a friends wedding), and only one basketball game in four years. I'm sure I'm not the only one that way since the Football student section is roughly what the capacity is at Hilton. Sure, I'm ecstatic that basketball is doing well under Hoiberg, but the football program will always be my #1, followed closely by wrestling, then WBB, THEN MBB.

Not sure I...or fans in general....agree.

Football attendance: 7 games x 54,000 = 378,000
Basketball attendance: 15 games x 13,000 = 195,000

Yes and this my friend is why you continue to drink the kool-aid for Iowa State football. We will never make a BCS game, nor win a championship in football. Conference/recruiting/coaching won't allow it. I'm sure you love the "tailgating" and other aspects like socializing with your friends during the game. All of that is cool, but it will never compete with Big 12 BBall Tourney, NCAA tourney, Elite 8 appearance > Independence Bowl or Holiday Bowl. You are missing out on the best sport in all of Iowa State athletics. I will always cheer for Iowa State athletics in general, but MBB is where it will always be at for the reasons I've listed. Get on the wagon!!
