ISU -3.5

They got rolled by South Alabama at home on Saturday. If we lose this one 3 wins will be a miracle

They got torched, almost blanked at home last week to powerhouse (actually respectable) South Alabama.

As bad as we feel here, it's worse there.
Just looked at their schedule quick. They are 2-1 with a respectable win against Arizona State. I then looked at ASU. I didn't realize they're (ASU) absolute hot garbage.

Ok State and ISU being bad is really bad for the Big 12. Really need the large public Big 12 schools to be good right now.
Just in general the big 12 has disappointed. Out of 14 teams almost every school has taken a turn where they have disappointed.

Baylor, Tech, TCU, K State, even Texas for 3 quarters against Wyoming. OSU and ISU have absolutely embarrassed themselves no matter which way you slice it.

BYU and UCF each have a legitimate chance to really do some things here. Throw Cincy into the mix. Kansas might compete for the title game right now. There's some real question marks if the angry 8 can sustain anything right now.

Yeah honestly not trying to just play Matt Campbell apologist but OSU is a great example - Gundy has been there 2 decades and has a 158-76 overall record, and this season OSU is a dumpster fire. The “this is year 8 Campbell should have it all figured out” crowd needs to take note
Well 90% of the OSU fanbase wants to move on from Gundy, so I’m not sure that’s the right example.

I believe OSU had a ton of players leave in the transfer portal this offseason. A quick google search shows they lost 8 starters and 18 total players via the transfer portal. I don't know the reasons for the mass exodus.

Over/Under is 36.5. That is quite low. But I would still take the under.

Seems so. A little nervous that both teams are bad enough to put up a couple scores or a defensive touch pushes over. Not sure how you predict a game with such garbage teams.

Gundy has worn out his welcome and become stale. It happens pretty much everywhere, but it doesn’t always happen on the same trajectory or the same time frame. People need to realize that, it’s going to happen to CMC if it hasn’t already, it’s going to happen to the next HC at OSU and ISU, and forever down the line.

Ferentz, Saban, not sure what other examples there are in CFB of coaches that stay basically forever, but those guys have an iron grip and more power than their ADs or Presidents do. It’s not good to let that happen at the institutional level imo.

8 years is a lot longer time in 2023 than it was even in 2017.

I saw the line and instantly wondered whether or not we'll score at least 3.5 points.
Last week the over/under for the Bethune-Cookman team (vs Miami) was 0.5.

Oddsmakers were betting heavily that they’d get shut out. All they had to do was score - at all - and the over would hit.

They ended up with a TD in a 48-7 loss.

I wonder how long until we see a line similar to that for ISU.
