ISU #11 in Final Coaches Poll

I wonder why we are ranked lower than Texas A&M and Vanderbilt. We beat them - I think we should be ranked a little bit higher. But it'still an excellent season.
Anyone knows whether this is the highest end-of-season rankings for the Team under BF ?

Ouch, Tennessee didn't even make the final 25. I'll bet it's been a long time since that's happened.

I don't know - it's about what I expected. Especially since it's the final poll. Less about who could be who anymore.
While we won the head to heads -
-We didn't win a conference title. Or even play in the game. They both did.
-We play in the big 12 north. (works in the argument for atm, not for vandy though since they play in the SEC)
-We couldn't have had an easier path to the elite 8. our Tourney number was 34 (13+12+9). Vandy was a 19. (aTm however, was a 31...). Plus we got trounced by a team that got trounced. Granted...it was uconn....
Would have been nice to have been higher...but probably about what we were.... Oh well. still a great season

vandy did beat KSU, a 5 seed, and played the 1 seed real close. we beat a 13, a 12, and a 9, had to pull some heroics to beat the 9, then got spanked silly by the 2. Plus we lucked out since we did not have to play duke or tennessee.
I don't necessarily know how we lucked out in not playing them - I figure had Ball St not destroyed them we would have.
Does anybody else think that there is no need for final polls in anthing other than football? Why have a final poll in a playoff system? I would rather finish out of the Top 25 and make it to the Elite 8 than finish 5th in the final poll and get beat in the First Round.
Agree. Just because we made the Elite Eight doesn't mean that we're one of the best eight teams in the country. We got some breaks.
We didn't have to play a ranked team (rankings prior to NCAA tourney) until Stanford.
It was a great, great year. The team really rose to the occasion when it counted the most.
What a great year for the women! I love how they continually get nearly 10,000 streaming into Hilton. Congrats Twister Sisters!
Hey number 11 isnt bad, look at the teams we are in front of also... Duke, North Carolina, Auburn. We should be higher than vanderbilt and maybe texas A&M, top 10 woulda looked awesome but in the end it was a heck of a season!

And Fennelly can tell every player he is recruiting that ISU has the best home court environment in the midwest. Going to the womens games were the highlight of the entire Cyclone sports year for me...
What I think is the great tragedy, is that Fennelly has never won Big 12 coach of the year. He was runner up national coach of the year, but has never even been Big12 coach of the year.
