Is this statistic accurate?

I know a guy that originally tweeted that. :spinny:

Iowa State-Delaware final...mark it down!

Delaware has 3 guys who average more per game than our 3 guys. All over 18/game. I think they really meant high major teams. Delaware is good btw. Too bad they have to face MSU, but the game will be closer than a lot of people think. This is the same Delaware team who lost @Nova by only 4 without their leading scorer and still put up 80.

I find it curious that ISU has to play such a good team in the first round in North Carolina Central. Delaware is pretty clearly a weaker team and yet they're seeded 13. I don't see Michigan State having any trouble with them. Cincinnati, on the other hand, will definitely give them a game in the next round.

"Iowa St Cyclones have 3 players averaging 16 or more points. The last NCAA tourney team with 3 players was Duke in 2010. They won it all."

That 2010 Duke team must of been the best of all time if they won a NC with only 3 players.

Delaware is not much worse than NCCU at all. I've seen them play a few times - they are better than people think when cylinders are clicking. They've won 19 of their last 21 games. They lost at Nova by 4 without their best player, at Notre Dame by 5 without their best player, and at Ohio State by 12 in an unfortunate game where they couldn't buy a basket that had little to do with OSU's defense - like those two games this year where we couldn't even make a wide open layup is how they were that game. Their leading scorer put up 17 against Ohio State, and their second leading scorer (barely behind the leader) put up 27 at Nova and 19 at Notre Dame.

Take away NCCU's win at North Carolina State when NC State was nowhere near as good as they are now, and the teams' results wouldn't be that much different. If you want to talk about playing teams close, Delaware has done that actually better than NCCU in a sense.

I think MSU will win of course, but I will NOT be surprised if this game is a lot closer than people think.
