The Motorsports Soapbox: BREAKING NEWS: Teresa Looking To Sell, Newman To Haas-CNC With Jack Daniels Backing

I know most here are not NASCAR fans but what kind of person would do this. Dale Jr. wanted to be a part of his father company as an owner and decision maker last year at this time and Teresa wouldnt allow it. Now all her drivers are leaving the company and she is losing sponsors she goes and wants to sell it to an outside group. If she would have allowed Dale Jr to be a bigger part of it, DEI would remain in the familys hands, now who knows who will own it.

I thought you were gonna finish your statement with "douche." That would be the most appropriate. Everyone said that she would one day regret the way she handled her business - caring nothing except selling her late husband's legacy and not giving two ***** about Junior - looks like everyone was right, considering Dale is happily 2nd in the points standings driving for the rival Hendrick...

DEI will almost definitely lose Truex Jr at the end of this year. That leaves them will Reagan Smith, Paul Menard, and Aric Amirola...not exactly a lineup that sets says DEI is in it to win it.

Stewart will be buying at least 50% into Haas CNC racing and will probably be announced next week. Newman and Truex have been linked as the driver he will bring along. Sounds like Tony will drive the Office Depot/Old Spice car next year (no number yet) and Newman will drive the Jack Daniels car for Stewart-Haas-CNC or whatever new name they come up with.

Teresa has been in over her head the entire time. If Truex leaves, they are in trouble. Reagan Smith needs a couple more years to develop, Aric Amirola will be a top 10 driver (just not next year; he also made a bad decision in leaving JGR) and Paul Menard is only there because of the last name and the sponsorship is brought with it. So long DEI...

I don't follow NASCAR but ever since the mess with her and Jr. I bet Dale Sr. is turning in his grave over how DEI has been handled.

I bet she keeps her interest in the retail/merchandising end of the business. Thats probably the big cash cow of DEI anyway.
