I've noticed that when giving, or receiving (rep), that the numbers don't go up, anymore. Is rep dead?

I couldn't give a rip about my own rep, but I love to give it to posts and posters I enjoy. If it's dead, is there something coming to replace it?

Nice ploy to get more rep:notworthy:

Alright, alright, enough with the +rep. I'm not a rep *****. Please.

For whatever reason, I'm not seeing whatever you guys are seeing.

BTW, someone IM me the number you do see. I'm just curious to see what the difference is in what you can see as my "number" versus what I can see.

And that's the sad part. If I believed in negative reps, I probably would have tagged you 2,278 times. Sadly, I only believe in the positive ones so you ended up net +1.

It's reputation points. It's not life giving power, or something cool like that. I think it's just a fun feature where you can give and receive comments. Do the numbers really matter?

We still have rep??? Credits are way more important, I cannot wait for all the betting this fall. It was so much fun last year during the end of the football season.

I think rep has over run its course. The numbers are pretty crazy as the same people keep rep-ing each other. I still think a quality rating system would be better. I dont ever rep anyone, so i dont even think about it. So I guess I dont care if it stays or goes.

Rep go bye-bye now.

Generally, it's a fun, light-hearted feature. But the times it gets abused or whined about aren't worth it.

how do you even give or even take rep. I only thing I see is the blue check on the side of post to add, but I don't see where you can give a value.

You don't assign a value... the ammount given it tied to your rep power and their rep power... someone with a high reputation giving rep to a low one will boost them by a lot, where as someone with less rep giving rep to someone who has a lot, it won't go up as much.

Which may be part of Pheadus's problem... you're rep is too damn high, it's probally going up by insignificant ammounts

I like the idea of rep as a way to tell someone you like their post, without making a post yourself.

I agree with this - it's a lot better than having five different people just posting "I agree 678" (kind of like I did here). Keeps a few pointless posts off of the board.
