Is Fibromayalga Real?

I have a friend that continually goes to the hospital only to be told there is nothing wrong with her. They won't even prescribe her pain pills. Why does this condition only affect middle-aged women who are lonely and need attention?

No idea. I will say that your description of the people who suffer from it falls right in line with my experience. It seems like a catch all. The equivalent of "soft tissue injuries" on an insurance claim for a car accident

I don't doubt they are in some sort of discomfort.

The two females I know with it would be past Middleaged. They both have undiagnosed chronic anxiety.

Although a few doctors will deny its validity, I believe fibromyalgia is a widely accepted medical condition, with criteria for making the diagnosis.

Well according to Mayo Clinic online anyway but they probably lack the expertise of the CF board

The one I know with it is a 20 year old college student who went for years with undiagnosed Lyme disease

Well she doesn’t take her meds any more from what she has told us. She’s kinda proud of the fact she talked the Dr. into giving her a handicap pass. You tell me if she is faking it. It pisses me off as she gloats about it and only uses the pass when it’s too hot or too cold and no regular spots are open.
