I have a friend that continually goes to the hospital only to be told there is nothing wrong with her. They won't even prescribe her pain pills. Why does this condition only affect middle-aged women who are lonely and need attention?

I don't doubt they are in some sort of discomfort. The pain sure sounds real when I've heard people describe it. None of the ones I've known have been middle-aged women.
I have heard that most of the symptoms can be alleviated with a good diet.Vit c, vit d, vit b12, probiotic, omega 3, magnesium

Women remain underrepresented in clinical testing for medicationsIt definitely affects more women but that doesn't mean it isn't real (and this goes into a different problem we often see with pain treatment for women in our healthcare system)
Although a few doctors will deny its validity, I believe fibromyalgia is a widely accepted medical condition, with criteria for making the diagnosis.I have a friend that continually goes to the hospital only to be told there is nothing wrong with her. Well according to Mayo Clinic online anyway but they probably lack the expertise of the CF boardAlthough a few doctors will deny its validity, I believe fibromyalgia is a widely accepted medical condition, with criteria for making the diagnosis.
The one I know with it is a 20 year old college student who went for years with undiagnosed Lyme diseaseThe two females I know with it would be past Middleaged. They both have undiagnosed chronic anxiety.
According to commercials I’ve seen in between price is right and days of our lives, yes.
We have a friend who supposedly has it. Even got her Dr. to give her a handicap permit. Never hear her say anything about.
Well I work there, so I’ll ask around. Will report back.Well according to Mayo Clinic online anyway but they probably lack the expertise of the CF board
Well she doesn’t take her meds any more from what she has told us. She’s kinda proud of the fact she talked the Dr. into giving her a handicap pass. You tell me if she is faking it. It pisses me off as she gloats about it and only uses the pass when it’s too hot or too cold and no regular spots are open.Probably because there are plenty of people (as demonstrated in this thread) that think she's faking it.
