Love it. Doesn't matter that it is the same thing every year, I love it. Maybe it's a nostalgia thing.

I really, really dislike crowds and waiting in lines, so nothing against the fair itself, but you would have to pay me to go (or be my wife and drag me there).

I love it too! Nowhere else in Iowa (even perhaps the nation) can you get so much delicious food on one site. It may not be the best for you but it is definitely delicious.

With huge crowds its very easy to lose track of your kids. Keep them close and make sure they don't wander off. It's not easy to find your kids when there could be at least 100,000 people at the fair at any given time.

I like it. Gives me an excuse to take today off work and we have a work outing there tomorrow.

If we go it's fun for about 3 or 4 hours but I don't make a special point to go and don't feel bad if we don't.

I love it.
Yes, the food and beer are expensive but I'm going to have too much of both.

Also, nothing like walking thru the Varied Industries building wearing an ISU shirt, and seeing how depressing the Iowa booth looks with zero trophies in it.

Love the State Fair. My wife and I will be there about 5 days.

Top foods I have to eat at the fair: Jr Donuts, Dairy Barn Shake, Gyro, Hot Beef Sundae, Burger & Fries at Stockmans

In high school, we use to stay at the dorms (youth inn) and then try sneaking out at night and get w/ chicks in the display stock trailers. Good times.

In before, are you sure those were chicks.

I used to think the State Fair was boring. I was seeing most of the same stuff over and over again, year after year after year. The food was good, the crowds didn't bother me too much, but it just didn't seem to win me over...

......then I went to the Nebraska State Fair.

I really liked the State Fair when I was a kid and showed cattle. Going as just a visitor I still like it but in a different way than I did as a kid. I can see everything I want to see in 1 day and call it good, I think I would be pretty bored by day 3 or 4 as just a visitor of the fair.
