It's great to see our football coaching staff got well taken care of. Kudos to Coach Campbell and JP.

Reported by RandyPete. I excerpt some eye-catching parts.

According to contracts provided The Des Moines Register Monday, the eight veteran fulltime assistant coaches saw 2021 increases of between $60,000 and $185,000. All 10 Campbell’s full-time assistants are signed through either the 2022 or 2023 seasons.

“Coach Campbell has always put investments in his student-athletes and football staff before his own personal gains,” Iowa State athletics director Jamie Pollard said in a statement released by the school when announcing Campbell’s new contract. “That is the essence of servant leadership and is what makes Coach Campbell so successful.”

Coordinators Jon Heacock and Tom Manning saw their salaries rise from each making $810,000 according to the state government salary data base, to $925,000 for 2021. Nate Scheelhaase picked up an additional $185,000 after Campbell doubled his responsibilities not only to include receivers coach, but also running game coordinator. His contract includes a $500,000 base salary for 2021.

The new Campbell contract is heavily on incentives for winning:

Seven regular-season wins earns Campbell an additional $250,000
Eight regular-season wins: $500,000 (up from $250,000)
Nine regular-season wins: $750,000 (up from $500,000)
Ten regular-season wins: $1 million
Eleven regular-season wins: $1.25 million
Twelve regular-season wins: $1.5 million

Could conceivably be our next HC also.

Am I reading this right? Campbell can make:

+250k
+500k
+750k
+1M
+250k
+250k

Or, +3M if ISU goes 12-0? +2.5M for 10-2?

Glad to see schelhouse get bumped up by a lot. I really think he’s our next OC if Manning gets a head coach job.
Agree 100%, and IIRC, he is fast rising in the ranks of rockstar recruiters. I really worry about Illinois stealing him at some point. I hope he really enjoys Ames and The Process. I think he'll make a great head coach someday too.

I understand the concern and Scheelhaase seems like the kind of person that values alma mater, but Illinois has to show that the program and coaching staff can help him reach his goals, and I don’t even know who the new coach is, but it’s a safe bet to assume ISU will be the better situation for him for the foreseeable future.
