Iowa High School Girls BB game?

Two things: Can someone give the context on Tanke and Lewis? I haven't kept up on recruiting. Commit v recruit or...? Also, does anyone know if Valley's Uthoff related to the guy who played for EIU? Just curious when I saw the familiar name.
Tanke is a senior and will be playing for ISU WBB next fall. Lewis is a sophomore and is one of the top 2026 recruits in the country. We offered her nearly three years ago back in 7th grade, but there's stiff competition for her.

Valley's coach is Matt Uthoff, the father of Valley freshman Baileigh Uthoff. If they are related to former Hawkeye Jarrod Uthoff, it isn't a super close relation as far as I can tell.
Wasn’t Jarrod a first cousin to Dean Uthoff, who played for ISU circa 1980? There must be a good-sized extended family with excellent hoops DNA!

Waukee beat Centennial for the 3rd time.
Was a great game to watch, Waukee shot making really opened up the floor in 2nd and 3rd quarters. Fun run by Centennial to take the lead in the 4th. Both teams played their starting 5 most the entire game.

Centennial with 2 chances on the last possession for the tie but missed both (last one was kinda a desperation heave).

The coach at Waukee has done a phenomenal over the past three years. They were left with nothing when the Waukee schools split; she has improved yearly. To get them to state from where they started is pretty significant. Their four losses this year are twice to both Johnston and Dowling Catholic.

Waukee beat Centennial for the 3rd time.
Centennial was Johnston's closest game all year (5 point victory) -- Hopkins (MN) was the only other team to lose to Johnston by single-digits. Johnston beat Waukee by 18 and 13 points in their two games.

If Johnston beats Waukee, they will be the first school in the 100+ year history of the girls' state tournament to make the title game five straight years. https://highschool.si.com/iowa/2024...oks-at-iowa-girls-basketball-state-tournament

Cedar Falls over Davenport North seems like quite an upset, but I didn't realize Journey Houston (Iowa commit) tore her ACL a month ago. Houston and Divine Bourrage are quite a duo.

Cedar Falls was led by Drake signee Grace Knutson, who was 8-15 behind the arc on the way to 34 points.
