It has started. Iowa fans must not think they are going to win Friday night. Already starting to flood twitter with talk about how they play so many more tougher more meaningful games in conference. They don't care if they win or lose.. That is laughable

If we lose we can just point to Fred taking us through TEN rounds of tournament play in three seasons to Fran's one P.I.G. game...and McKay not playing yet. We're all set to really pi$$ them off win or lose.

...because they have a history of winning tough meaningful conference games under Fran.

B1G is down this year, the only team that is for sure better than us right now that they will play in conference is Wisconsin

ANY Iowa or ISU fan that says they don't care is lying. Is it the end of the world if you lose? No, but it sure makes the next couple weeks a lot easier, especially if you live in Iowa or have friends/family on both sides.

With that said, Iowa will be favored and this is a really good opportunity to notch a good non-con win for both schools.

I hope we play well and win the game.

We;ll see about that. If they win they certainly are going to care. If we weren't named Iowa State they would be jumping up and down excited. But since we are Iowa State, Iowa fans do what they normally do and act like we don't matter to them although we will be a 5 or 6 seed at worst in the tournament this season.

Do they play the world champion media invention Nebraska? Or do they play the actual zero-NCAA wins bubble team that won 19 games before getting blown out by Baylor but has a chucker and shiny building? That's got to be a key for their conference schedule.

That game is going to be huge. "The Battle For the Teams Receiving Votes Border Classic". I'll go 54 - 50 Nubraskala.

They don't care? This is their biggest game of the non-conference schedule. A win almost guarantees a good non-con RPI. A loss...1-3 against ranked teams doesn't look good come selection time. Especially in a down conference.

I definitely care, but as I told a few buddies, I cared more about our game against Arkansas than I do vs. Iowa. Arkansas is (was) a higher ranked team coming into our house. A loss would be devastating. It's the same way for them.

that "down conference" will still be #2 RPI at worst.

iowa already has a signature pre-conference win. I would argue that even the UNI is more important because that would be a worse loss come selection time.

Losing to good teams doesn't hurt you in basketball. Losing to bad teams do. This game doesn't hurt them if they lose, but it helps them tremendously if they win.

There are more important games for us, but that's because we can compete for a conference title. History is against the Halks making that claim

This is probably the second biggest game in Fran's tenure in the eyes of the fans behind the play in game

Aw, the pre-emptive "looking ahead to UNI" argument. Sure, why not?

So why not get another? Just because you have 1 big win doesn't mean you have to stop trying or caring. If this is really how Iowa fans think then I understand why CHA does give aways for almost every home game.
