Iowa Cold Cases

"The most dangerous man in the world is your mom's boyfriend"

I know one of these from the 90s, my ex's best friend at the time. I remember being at the hospital on Christmas. Shaken/abused 2yo, guy was charged, tried, and acquitted. The defense went after the mom and the experts, and sowed enough reasonable doubt to win. So it's a "cold case" but there's no work to do - they know who did it, he just got away with it.

Big Earl is in there too. Didn't realize that was unsolved.

Didn't happen in Iowa but she went to school in Iowa is the Tammy Zywicki case. Came across it in a true crime podcast. I knew the name but wasn't familiar on the particulars.

The Ashley Okland one is the one I think of. I lived practically right across the street at the time at the townhomes across the street from where she was working.

My mom worked with her mom at ISU so that one hits closer to home for me and especially my mom.

I've always wondered who killed the Perry girl from Creston back in the 80s. Disappeared from a laundry mat and found buried in a shallow grave about 10 miles SW of there off of Highway 25 a few years later.
