I'll be behind enemy lines tomorrow, as my wife signed us up to attend a tailgate before the iowa game tomorrow. I told her I'm ok with it as long as we can make it somewhere that will have the ISU game on by kickoff. My fear is ending up somewhere that will have the hawks on all of the screens. Any suggestions? I'd love to end up somewhere that will have more than me dressed in cardinal and gold. I haven't heard where the tailgate will be, at this point.

Several years ago I watched the second half of an ISU game at the Coralville BWW. There was not an Iowa game on at the same time, but they had it on several screens and there were a handful of Cyclone fans and everyone was cordial.

2 Dogs Pub will have the game on (or will be willing to turn it on, based on past experience), there are usually a few ISU fans there. The Hilltop Tavern probably will turn it on as well (it's a cheap place to drink, and everyone is pretty chill there) -- that's actually where I watched the 2011 OSU game. One other interesting option: the Hy-Vee Market Cafe (I'm partial to the one on First Ave) -- they will definitely put the game on there.

I'd meet you, but I'm going to the game in town (TOE beating OSU would be good for our playoff chances, small as they currently are).

Good luck man!

I talked to Alan the owner of 2 Dogs he wants to know how many people? He said he will figure it out.

The beer selection there is top notch. Food is good and cheap- I might make it down it depends on club volleyball.

With the tOSU vs Iowa game on at the same time, a lot of places will be hard pressed to share the TVs.

Yes, 2Dogs will have it. Only issue is it's on the other side of IC and may take some time to get there depending on where you tailgate. BWW in the Ped Mall would probably have it but I'm sure tons of Hawk fans. Shakespears would probably put it on as well, but at that point, you may as well to to 2Dogs.

If you are tailgating close to Kinnick you could try Stella as it's right on Melrose. I haven't been in a while and can't remember their TV situation, but it's right there. You also have the Vine and Old Chicago on the strip, but those places will be crawling. Just trying to throw out some options closer to the stadium.

The crowd at 2 dogs are not obnoxious. I watched the ISU Iowa game there and didn't get killed or kill anyone.

Maybe you could watch at Vodka Sam's apartment. She'll likely be locked up til morning.

I agree, 2 Dogs and HyVee are good options. You might also try Sams Pizza. Generally not more than a dozen or so people there watching the Iowa game and will often throw on another game.

Girlfriend's birthday is next Wednesday so we are getting together with some of her friends for the Iowa game at Gus' in Coralville. Gus' is a nice, locally owned place with good food and good drinks, and it is away from the Iowa City madness (it's on the NW side of Coralville). I will be there and will be finding a way to get the ISU game on TV, which shouldn't be too difficult because it usually isn't packed on game days. Address is 2421 Coral Ct. if you want to check it out.
