NFL: Interesting Expansion Story

Probably 2 in LA. Although I think it's dumb. 32 is more than enough. A team will move there eventually.

We just had a 'football day' in our office. My highly casual poll showed that no one team has a hold on this market. At least 11 different teams were represented that I counted and no more than 3 fans were seen for any one team. This is a large office too.

LA could be fools gold for the NFL.

Mike Florio (sp?) was hosting Dan Patrick the other day and said it sounds like the NFL is gearing up to have a London franchise. I think that's a really bad idea.

There is no way that happens. The logistics make no sense. I could see them playing more games in Europe, but not putting a franchise there.

I would love this -- London is one of my favorite cities. Hope this happens.

London, and its a truly awful idea.. St Louis is a viable candidate to move there.

-There lease is up in 3 yrs
-They are playing a game a year there the next three years
-There owner owns the soccer team and stadium there

The NFL in STL is doomed. People well remember the PSL scam from the now obsolete Dome and a new stadium is extremely unlikely........ if not impossible. London is a great idea.

London is a bad Idea.

What is the PSL scam? I googled it but didnt get much.
PSL = Personal Seat License -- people paid up to $10,000 just for the right to buy a season ticket. It basically funded the dome because tax dollars were never going to get approved at a higher rate. That will not happen again in this economy. I still own 4 PSLs which I should have sold in 1999-2000 at an inflated price ......... worthless now..... worst investment ever. And I love London, they will fill the stadium.

I could see Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Portland, Salt Lake City, and Omaha as options (in order of decreasing viability).

Also perhaps Oklahoma City? The city has really taken to the Sonics/Thunder moving there, just not sure if they would be able to swing people from being Dallas Cowboys (I assume) fans.

I'm sorry to say though London will happen if they do the LA team expansion without moving anyone. they have invested way to much time. I think the west coast teams would have to hate this more then anything.
