I'm sure this has been covered but I never saw the discussion here. How did Montgomery ultimately get ejected and Knipfel was allowed to come back in after being kicked out initially? It looked like Coach Campbell was getting after the refs pretty good while Knipfel was on his way to the locker room. Did we "self report" that it was Montgomery that should have been ejected or did the refs get to that conclusion on their own?

Someone said on here that the booth buzzed down and told the officials that they had it wrong. I believe Campbell was agitated because they were about to start play before Campbell had his player who was ejected erroneously back.

Hopefully this is a huge learning experience for DM. I'm sure Campbell has talked to him about him being a target and the other team wants nothing more than to make him lose his cool. They are perfectly content to trade ejection of just about any player on their squad for his ejection. He has to just funnel that anger and make them pay through his game play.

I'll never forget Iowa State playing Oklahoma State in the Big 12 Tourney in 2000. Doug Gottlieb picked a fight with Marcus Fizer and tried to get them both ejected. Luckily they just drew a double technical. You bet Eddie Sutton would have traded losing Gottlieb for getting Fizer out of the game.

Repeating but this was maybe the first time I can even recall DM getting caught up in any kind of conflict with the opponent, and he's taken plenty of extra shots and I'm sure has had plenty said to him over time.

Very true. However, once everyone sees that it is possible to make you lose your cool they will redouble their efforts to make you do it again.
