Two comments - one stupid fireman. I would like to know if he got his job through any special programs or earned it through merit.

Second. Perhaps more outrageous is the train really only carrying 65 freaking people. Why are we as taxpayers funding a train system so under running capacity. 65 people. What is that two busses? Which is cheaper between Detroit and Chicago - two buses or a freaking train?
 
I thought there was going to be a picture of our government fter reading the thread name.

You are basing this on how many people were on the train on one specific trip. Talk about jumping to conclusions based on one very incomplete piece of information.

Seriously, you need way, way more information on the usage of this rain line and other factors than how many people were on the train in one instance to even attempt to make an analysis on this.
 
We've had problems in Houston with the Metro buses both getting by and running into the Metro Trains. I always love it when they need an investigation..... like it's hard to tell the bus driver will be at fault.
 
They have been investigating this for over a month per the article. I'm pretty sure I could have wrapped this investigation up in about 2 minutes.

Of course they have to investigate. If we create an environment where even a moron can function, the net result will be a society full of morons. And since people are no longer responsible for their own actions, someone is going to try to place blame on a crossing arm, flashing lights, etc.
 
While we're on the subject of incompetence, here's a story and video of a car which got into an altercation with another car and became lodged in the front bumper of a semi. It rode there at around 60mph for nearly a mile with the truck driver being completely oblivious. I saw an interview with the victim who said at the time the truck driver asked if it was ok if he left the scene since she was ok.

There was no action from the cops or the company until the video surfaced which showed just how long this dufus drug the car.

Not surprisingly, this occured in Great Britain.
