"I'm extremely blessed to have received an offer . . . "

I think it sounds cooler when people talk like this in church.

Depends on who's doing the blessing. Not sure if getting "blessed" with a college scholarship offer is the same as being "made holy or consecrated".

Are KU offers "blessings"?

I was blessed with a cold sore once. The meek - or those sportin' shankers - will inherit the earth is what they say.

dumb thread is dumb. i think the meaning is lucky to have received, grateful to have received. Dont think they are trying to tell anyone they are better than anyone. why does it matter to you what words they use

express or feel gratitude to; thank.
"she silently blessed the premonition which had made her pack her best dress"
synonyms: give thanks for, be grateful for, thank;
appreciate
"I bless the day you came here"

what is bad is the "I'm blessed to have recieved my X offer from XYZ school." Really, they gave you multiple offers? Must be forgetful.

I get that these are just worded a little oddly, but they crack me up. "Blessed to receive 15th offer from _______ University!" Every once in a while it catches me off guard and I have to read it twice.

I don't mind the ones that say "received an offer from _____!" but when they put a number on it I get a little annoyed for two seconds (and then I move on with my life).
