Didn't see any discussion on the Iowa high school state tournmant so far so figured I'd get the ball rolling. Haven't followed much today but saw there was an upset in 1A tonight as Rinken from Nashua-Plainfield lost to Jacobsen from Central Springs.

Crazy outcome but I heard Rinken blew out his shoulder at regional duals. That stinks. I wonder if they've ever thought of having them post traditional state tournament incase kids get hurt at state duals.

Central Springs had another upset at 165, 13 seed over 4. Lincoln Blickenderfer of Central Springs had a takedown on Andrew Kimball of Don Bosco with under 10 seconds left, causing Blickenderfer to now be up 6-5. They stopped the match, afraid that Kimball had suffered a concussion. After several minutes of examination and discussion with his coaches and medical trainer team, Kimball was deemed okay to finish out the final four seconds. Kimball started down, and when the whistle blew, he pulled a move that put Lincoln almost on his back. Don Bosco coaches and fans wanted near fall points. (I think) Refs still said no, Blickenderfer won. He makes it to the quarterfinals.

Saw a kid in 2A lay on his belly the whole 3rd period to win 2 to 1.

Sat next to a wrestlers girlfriend that thought her boyfriend died. Thankfully he ended up being ok enough to finish the match.

Good thing the wrestler is ok but you just hate to see a Bosco kid loose.... ;)

I saw Blume from R-S won his match, I didn't know he was "cleared" to wrestle this year.

I'm watching Johnson 175# from R-S and hoping he wins it all.

I’m confused, did kimball not get the reversal because if he was close to back points he would have needed the reversal. Or did Blink choose down (not sure if the

What’s goin on with W-SR? They must be down.
Brett Wheelen left!!! At Valley now. Got to talk with him at the Carlisle district tournament

Rinken is a shell of himself at this point. Feel bad for the kid.

Hendricks of Humboldt (Dresser's hometown) at 165 is Ranked #1 in 2A as a freshman is one to watch.

I assume the Ames boys of Hinson (Junior??) at 138, Mickel (Soph ??) at 190, at Herrera (Senior) at 285 are some guys to watch.

Want them all in Ames.

Mickel (So) should have a good shot. Probably a nice thing to be in a different wt. than Ross this year.

I heard Jacobson beat him last night and was kind of stunned. They've wrestled multiple times and it's never been close. Sucks for Rinken. NP has had their share of heartache from injuries associated with state duals.

By chance is the Hinson kid the son of Dwight Hinson? IHDK if Dwight stayed around. Is he a cop maybe? Or am I thinking of Cody Tate being a cop?
