If we are seeded #3 in Big 12 tourney

... who do we play in Big 12 tournament in second round and in the following games with wins? Can someone paint the picture for me? Thanks.

Also let's say we win two games in Big 12 tournament, what are the chances we get a 7th seed in NCAA tournament?
 
Quarterfinal: KSU or Texas

Then, if seeds hold...
Semifinal: Mizzou
Final: Kansas

IF we win, we would play the 2 seed (Mizzou).

4 v 5
1v 8/9 winner

2 v 7/10 winner
3 v 6

Theres your bracket.

If we win 2 games in the tounry and on saturday, a 7 seed is a lock.
 
I would rather play KU than Mizzou again. Although being the 3 seed, might get ISU bumped up to a 6-7 seed alone (barring they don't lose game 1 of the big 12 tourney).
 
Thanks guys. I think its very realistic to win 2 games in the Tournament. Neither KSU nor Texas threatens me. I want us to play Missouri again. I really think we can get to the Final game of Big 12 Tournament.

This team has every element to win Big 12 Tournament. They just have to respect each possession of Basketball without careless passes. Shot selection comes automatic when you respect each possession. Royce White needs to not cough up the ball or pass without looking so many times. If we can limit those mistakes, we can win out.

I'd love to get one more crack at Mizzou. Both of those games seemed to just slip away from us, so I'm confident this team is capable of beating them. I'm also pretty sure that KC is going to be a VERY hostile environment for Mizzou this year. Have to believe that KU, K-State, and ISU fans are going to be intent on making sure that Mizzou doesn't leave the conference with a tournament title.
 
One would expect K-state to win and Texas to lose this weekend. I would much rather play Texas in Hilton South than K-state at the Sprint Center.

Don't really care who we play on Friday as long as we get a shot, but I do want one more crack at Mizzou.
 
I'd love another shot at Mizzou, the first 30 minutes or so of the game last night were great basketball all around. Both teams were playing at a high level with high energy, it was fun to watch. I'd also like to roll the dice that we will get better production out of Scotty and Allen next time.

I couldnt agree more. I want a rematch!
 
After last night, I really want Mizzou in Round 2, although I still think we match up better with Kansas.

For the same reason I dont want to play KSU again, I WANT to play Mizzou again...
 
I sure dont want to play mizzou again after last nite thats for sure, But just bring on KU because we can elevate our game and beat them in the Sprint Center.


The way mu's guards were blowin past us last nite on their way to the basket reminded me of Tim Floyd's 1st year when the Okies came to Hilton and blew past us on the way to the basket.


KU cant get to the basket like mizzou can so I say lets beat the Jayhawks and win the big 12 tournament and shock the Jerry Palm's of the basketball world.

I was thinking about this after the game last night. The game against Baylor will be the deciding factor between having a pretty good chance at a first round exit and a pretty good chance at playing in the championship game. It's pretty hard to beat a good team 3 times in a year, and I would imagine KSU feels they let our games "slip away" just like we do about Mizzou.

I'd say it's almost certain that K-state is the 5 seed and Texas is the 6 seed. K-State has Okie State at home and Texas is on the road at KU. K-State also has the tie-breaker, so Texas would need to get the upset and have K-State lose to move into 5th.

Kstate has Okie State, Texas has KU. They split their games earlier in the year but Kstate swept Mizzou, split with Baylor and was swept by us. We are the only team in the top 4 that Texas beat, so it looks like Kstate wins the tiebreaker.
 
Agreed that I want another crack at Mizzou. I'd love to be the team that officially ends their Big 12 careers. We lose by 6 in Columbia on senior night. I like our chances of beating them in KC. The dozens of fans they are sure to bring don't scare me.

Pretty much every seed is determined right now other then the 3, 4, 8, and 9 seeds.
  • KU has the 1 seed locked
  • Mizzou has the 2 seed locked
  • Winner of ISU/BU game is 3 seed, loser is 4 seed
  • Kansas State will be the 5 seed and Texas will be the 6 seed unless Texas beats Kansas in Lawrence. I don't see that happening
  • Okie State has the 7 seed locked
  • Winner of the OU/aTM game is 8 seed, loser is 9 seed
  • Tech has the 10 seed locked.
