... I still think they have a shot at a bowl game. Maybe its just wishful thinking on my part, but the team looked much better last weekend compared to week 1 vs. NDSU.

Coming into the season I said ISU would go 5-7, give or take a game either way. After the NDSU game I was doubtful they would even get to 3 wins. However, when I gave my preseason prediction I said ISU would beat NDSU, lose 4 straight, beat Toledo, then have a legitimate shot to close the year out with 4 straight wins. That 1-4 start is still possible with a win over Iowa on Saturday. I know 1-4 isn't an ideal start to a season, but it's better than 0-5 and trying to win 6 of your last 7 to get to bowl eligibility.

Beat Iowa, beat Toledo, beat KU, take care of Texas Tech and West Virginia in the cold, and then it all comes down to the final game at TCU.

Positive thinking. Go Clones! Beat the Hawks!

I think as long as this team continues to improve they are fine, but a win tomorrow would help things. I still look at those final four games and think they have a chance in all of them, so as long as ISU can be 2-6 going into them, I wouldn't count out a bowl game, especially if they look respectable in their loses.

I totally agree. I said if we can go 2-1 at worst out of our non-conference then we have a shot at 6 wins. Granted, I thought we would have beaten NDSU. Things can get turned around 2marow afternoon or... they can keep going further into the ground. #cyclONEnation If we win were going to have to hold them to fgs. And CPR has some weird stat how his record is really good when we hold the opponent to 24 pts or under. So I got 24-20. All 24 pts we score will be in the 2nd half ;)

If we can win the last four games, it will be the first time we've won four in a row since 2005. I hope that happens.

Anyone know what our longest win streak ever is? I know we rattled off six in a row after Florida State in 2002.

Count me in on this Kool-Aid train. I've just got a feeling about tomorrow's game.

We might be able to capitalize on Charlie Strong's growing pains at UT...might.

Sorry guys ... not gonna happen. The Clones might play well enough to keep it close, but we don't have enough guys that really know how to win.

Sam scrambles and his accuracy goes out the window. Too many key turnovers, when our defense doesn't return the favor, etc.

:twitcy: Get out of here.

a bowl game is a stretch. They'd have to win tommorow and then go 5-4 in the conference. I'm too lazy to look it up but I'm guessing '05 was the last time ISU has had a winning record in conference play.

I wish I shared the same hope for tomorrow as some...but I don't. Might be different at Trice but I don't see ISU leaving tomorrow with any trophy. Just keeping it real...or whatever.

2000 was the last time. I think that's the only time we've had a winning conference record since Earle Bruce.

However, they could still win tomorrow and go 4-5 in conference to become bowl eligible if we beat Toledo.

They can still go 4-5 in conference with a win tomorrow. Toledo is in October.

The only times that ISU lost to Iowa and still went to a bowl game was 2004 and 2009. Those 2 years, we won our other OOC games. Unless I'm mistaken, ISU has never gone to a bowl after losing 2 OOC games. So, it would definitely be a first.

So ISU would need 4 conference wins, plus Toledo:

*Kansas
*Texas Tech
*Texas
*West Virginia or TCU

I guess it could happen.

If we are 3-5 going into the KU game I would feel decent about it but still <50%. If we're 2-6 I wouldn't feel awful although I wouldn't expect to pull off four in a row. Still, the back end of our schedule is very favorable.
