In the end it didn't really turn out to bad over here in the cedar rapids area, though I did lose power :sad:

No but she brought me a dead bird she got from that pine tree, the third one this week. She won't leave them alone. Though with her being a bird dog it is a good thing to see, as long as she doesn't kill them out in the field too.

Great photos, cytech! How much accumulation did you guys end up having in that area?

hard to say really, not really any snow at all I would say less then one inch. As for the freezing rain it was for the most part to warm for it to get really bad on streets. But there was alot of tree damage around the city. I am going to take some more photo's tomorrow.
My power ended up being out for about 12 hours. And that power line in the first picture is still laying on the ground as we speak. Plus more branches are still coming down around here. So I would guess as the winds pick up more damage could happen still.

While it wasn't the result of an ice storm, does anyone remember when the Fiji house caught fire in the dead of winter and what it looked like the next day?
The picture was in newspapers all over the country.
