But big picture is that I saw way more good than bad today and for the future. I knew all along it was going to be a nail biter.

But damn, I would have loved to get the W today.

And I have no idea what is, or isn’t, or could be, or should be, reaction time anymore and how a ref calls it. Something needs to change and soon for the good of the sport.

And Hilton was fire today. Show up for David vs Missouri if you can only get to one more. But come to them all if you can

I totally agree with you. Our guys, at least the ones that came out with a purpose, there are a couple of them that need to soul search after that. They need to decide what they want out of their season. The others have high ceilings and hopefully score big in March.

So happy for Evan Frost. Hard work is paying off. Love the mentality from 133-165 today.

Hats off to Yonger, I’m guessing he wasn’t as pumped at the end but still pushed pace and scored. Would have loved to seen the electricity he would have brought with the dual on the line.

Unfortunate I will never live to see an Iowa State wrestling team beat the Hawks. I think I just need to stop paying attention to that dual and just hope we can place 3rd someday at nationals as that is the ceiling for this program. My dad told me we used to win nattys in this sport...

I was there watching national championship teams. 3rd would be a hugh improvement. We need to crack the top 10 first.

It’s certainly clear this crop of freshman and sophomore’s at the lower weighs are legit. And this is all with out Paniro who won a big 12 title last year. How this room is going to shape out with the talent at those weights is going to be fascinating to see. I think Cody probably shifts to 65 after carr leaves and Panrio to 57.

I’d like to see what some of the younger guys at 84 and 97 can do. Feldkamp will probably do well for a season but I’m looking forward to what’s behind him. With 97 in JB, I just don’t think he has the offensive tools to win many matches.

I see 2 for sure AA’s on this team (65 and HWT), in a good tournament 4, and ceiling 6. If we can get 4 guys, I like our chances on placing well.’

I’m ready to see the depth behind 125 and 197. Those guys are the same they’ve been. No idea how you can come out flat in that environment.

I'm curious on your 6? With continued improvement, I could see 7 possible AAs: 33-65, 84, and Hwt.

I remember watching Iowa Iowa st duals being embarrassed by our team and a Hilton crowd made up by a majority black and gold.

Yesterday was different. Our fans owned Hilton. The atmosphere was electric. And for the most part, our wrestlers were the aggressors. We pushed the pace and took it to them.

84 and 97 were beyond frustrating but the trajectory of this program is promising. I see the vision dresser and co is developing and I’m in.

I think it’s a lot to ask for Frost to place as a freshman. 41-65,84, HWT
Agreed. Honestly, anything better than R16 would be an excellent year for him as a freshman. He has already wrestled well above his recruiting ranking out of high school and will always be in matches with his grinder mentality. He looked great yesterday, but let's get through the Cliff Keen and into January before we start predicting an AA year out of him. Very happy he is a Cyclone though and can't wait to continue to watch him develop!

Agree things are the way up. A lot of talent in the room with lots of eligibility left, excited to see where we're headed this year and beyond. CKLV will teach us a lot about this squad.

Just think about the guys in the room that have 2+ years of elgibility left after this season... Perryman, Frost bros, Grice, Echemendia, Redding, Swiderski, Paniro, Chittum, Euton, Gaitan, Naak, Hagerty. There are some dudes there. With little Naak, Meza, Bartelt, Herrera coming it too? Future is so bright. Yonger for another season too.

We've got to keep it up in the 2025 class of course and portal season will be interesting. Need to figure out how we're upgrading 125/197 and what the life after David plan is at 165. I assume Dressser's already got a plan cooking
