How will this affect Lenord Johnson?

The Bucs have almost no CBs left, so trading him is unlikely. I'd say it's a pretty decent chance he will play opposite Revis or as the nickel back.

I always have wanted to see Leonard as a nickel. He isn't the quickest guy but he's physical enough that I think he'd play very well closer to the ball.

LJ got at least one of his picks at the nickel last year. Given their db situation last year, I think they keep him as a reliable fallback if nothing else.

sounds like the Jets will get a first round pick this year and either a 3rd or 4th next year. If Revis comes back in anywhere near the form he was before he got hurt, then the Bucs made out like bandits. A healthy Revis is easily worth what they gave up, and probably more. If he doesn't ever fully recover then obviously that's bad for the Bucs, but the fact that his new deal includes no guaranteed money means that they can get rid of him and suffer no cap penalties. I helps mitigate the risk.

As I pointed out in whatever thread it was that said the Bucs needed to focus on secondary in the draft, it's not like the Bucs have a lot in the way of corners outside of LJ, so it's more likely they need players to play opposite LJ.

they re-signed Eric Wright. He'll probably play opposite Revis, unless Leonard challenges him.
