How quickly Baylor forgets...

while I don’t find much fault with the article, the rationale that Baylor's loss of Brewer was the only thing affecting last year's outcome is narrow at best. Even the comments section illustrates their lack of big picture awareness. Somehow our loss of Montgomery and his potential impact on the game gets overlooked to help them feel better about themselves. Will this be a close game...more than likely.

What revenge factor are they talking about? They literally went after Butler and Montgomery to get them kicked out of the game. Dirty trash program. And their defense isn't good last I checked, so holding us to 3 TD's is pretty optimistic of them.

I missed that game because I was out of town, but my mom still spits nails when that game is brought up and how they were dirty in going after Montgomery.

There’s really nothing in that take that is a reason to get pissed off. It’s actually a pretty good description of our team. At this point, that would appear to be a close spread and the Baylor guys picked Baylor. Iowa State guys will pick Iowa State.

This is a fan base that is good at creating narratives...

That said, even without the fact that they started it last year, it was a chippy game, and they lost a close one. They would have this one marked down even without the extracurriculars.

Was it? I'd have to re-watch the game, but I don't remember it being chippy until they went after Montgomery when he was out-of-bounds. When the fight happened a few plays later, that changed the entire tone of the game. Baylor was getting their ass kicked until that happened, then it started to get closer.

Even with David and Hakeem in the NFL now, I would bet on this being a chippy game this year. Hopefully our guys can keep their composure.

Didn't they go after Hakeem first?

I still feel like our team did not handle the poor turf very well in the last half of the season. Why we couldn't as a team deal with that I'm not sure since it was our home turf, but really it started in the Baylor game and I always felt like our team did a poor job adapting.

No they weren’t. They were picking our defense apart for most of the game. The stats say Baylor should have won. They had over 500 yards of offense against our defense and 10 more minutes, 35 vs our 25 time of possession. We were lucky they made some mistakes that stalled out their drives and missed a couple early FG. I wouldn’t call that getting their ass kick.

Oh yea, **** Baylor.
