With all this chaos I wouldn’t want us to lose the opportunity to outclass the Hoks. Jamie please make sure these games are ironclad as Kohl is going to rip Parker’s defense a new one while he is here after the results of the ON 3 QB. Please. I need us to beat these guys … and soundly!!!

I believe that the series currently is contracted through 2025. I have no idea what the penalty would be for Iowa if they broke it before then, but as of right now, post-2025 it's up to both schools to come to a new contract agreement.

In 2017, the agreement was extended to include 2023.
In 2019, the agreement was extended to include 2025.
No extension was announced in 2021.

How much does Iowa losing the opportunity to host the game in 2020 affect discussions?
I could see one more three year extension being announced which gives Iowa two home games to one for ISU.

We need to do whatever it takes to get out of playing this game. Literally no benefit to our program. No coincidence we have our best year ever when we don't play them.
Can you imagine Alabama fans saying this about Auburn or vice versa? The segment of our fan base who thinks like this is embarrassing. Rivalry is what made college football.

If we either conference goes to 10 conference games, it’s gone. End of story.

Campbell needs to put a competent offense and special teams on the field early in the season and we will beat them. Hopefully this is the yr

I think it's fine to want the game to end for more variety or because it breeds animosity between the fanbases.

But "there's no benefit for our program" and "we have our best season when we don't play them" isn't the best argument. Especially when we're in the middle of a six game losing streak.

Did we not go to the Fiesta Bowl the year we had to play them? What's the benefit for ISU in this game? We're a top 15 football program now and playing a lesser opponent like Iowa who spends all off-season gearing up for this game isn't worth it.

Even before iowa gets to host this year they have hosted 39 of the 68 games in the series (that's 29 games in Ames). And that includes four games in a row when the series was renewed that Iowa refused to let be hosted in Iowa State's brand new stadium.

There is no reason to adjust just because they lost one game.

It's a great game for the state. It's a quality P5 opponent for both schools.

People sayin it is "no win" are insinuating that the other school sucks, while being afraid to lose.

I'm as sick of Hox fans as much as the next guy, but the game is objectively a net positive.

I just wish it was possible to move it to Thanksgiving weekend. I think that would be way more fun than week 2/3. You wouldn't have the 'early season emotion' so strong on either side.
