I've always liked the "3" subtitle "Fran is on the move!"
He may be a nice guy, but the look he gave the reporter who asked him about "the play in game" a few years ago was deadly. Scared me.
Also, I have watched Iowa games, and even when they are winning the players don't look like they are enjoying themselves.
Is there any truth to a large cardboard cut out with changeable levels for the students to hold?
I think he has mellowed with the shouting and histrionics. BUT he still gets into his players heads and instills fear instead of confidence- that's why they have struggled this year and in the clutch for years.
Who was their last real on-floor leader? Most of them either would run and hide, or would fold like a napkin.
And this year, with 12 guys playing, only 3 real guards, goofy rotations, not getting in the flow, playing different spots. No wonder their chemistry is awful.
I just think he mind-****s his guys big time.
That said, I think Iowa will come out an bust their butts, shoot well, and it will be close. I think a Prohm-patented 5 minute flurry of Iowa turnovers leading to easy baskets will be the difference for ISU.

With Fran inching towards the hot seat, you wonder if these little meltdowns will begin to be an issue ala Bo Pelini. The "higher ups" will look past it when they are winning, but I could just see it becoming an issue if they are looking for reasons to get rid of him.
Basically schools are always looking for a way to get rid of a bad coach without a major buyout. Not sure Iowa is convinced Fran is bad yet....
I realize they aren't there yet, but if I were Fran I wouldn't give them any additional reasons to consider letting me go.

Francis knows he has already screwed up all his players with his antics. My guess is he tries to stay composed and rebuild player confidence. Bohannnninnnn looks like a puppy that's been whipped three days straight. I love Francis as Iowa coach... please Barta - don't ever fire him.
