How do I hide the Cave from the recent posts?

I probably missed this somewhere. I know I could do it in the old layout. But I don't want to see the politics, etc recent posts appear in my recent posts listing. How do I hide?

Hover over your name in the upper right, select preferences from the list that drops down, go to the bottom, click "yes, hide forums". It wasn't working at first, but sounds like it should now.

Is it really going to stay opt out instead of opt in? Probably not a good thing for potential new members seeing all that junk.

It doesn't seem to be working for me in Chrome. Preferences show that I'm opted-out but everything still shows.
