Hey all,

Some friends and I are trying to be proactive and get a house lined up for our senior year (2014-2015 school year). Just kind of curious if there happens to be anyone on here who is moving out after this school year and is looking for someone to pass the house on to so to speak. There are 4 of us so four bedroom is preferred, and near campus would be nice.

Otherwise, if you aren't moving out of a place this school year or don't have any particular place in mind, what is the best way to find houses for rent this far ahead of time? Is there a certain website that has worked well for people in the past?

Thanks!

Mine probably won't be available, but we got ours basically through knowing the people who lived here before us.

RentAmes.com are great guys. They were super nice about everything. We didn't rent from them because we went from 3 guys to 6 guys but they were awesome.

I would highly suggest going to the owner's sites themselves vs anything else.

CycloneProperty.com was also a great owner.

Call Dan Coady 515-231-5997. He has a number of good old houses near Downtown/City Hall. Walk to Olde Main for $1 beer, walk to Fareway, 6th St bike ride to campus, easy walking access to Green and Red CyRide routes.

Under appreciated part of town to live in...was a way better experience than my year in West Ames.

I recommend MTR properties. All houses/ duplexes and run cheaper than a lot.

We had two places we liked with them and they got signed out from under us in a day or two after they showed them to us. Group was too indecisive. They are huge for the price. Great deal.

Whatever you do, do not rent from Campustown Properties. They are the biggest cluster**** of a company I've ever dealt with. Just a disaster from start to finish.
