Anyone else think that the ISU brand of basketball closely resembles hockey? Specifically our passing and spacing.

A big man who can handle the puck and is one of the biggest advantages you can have in hockey, next to having a dominant goalie. White and Niang and come to mind.

It's also interesting to note that a lot of the ISU players and recruits are from areas of the US and Canada known for hockey. I'm starting to wonder if CFH values a kid that has played or understands hockey the same as CPR likes football prospects that also wrestle.

Just curious if anyone else has noticed or thought this about the Cyclones. Regardless, it sure is a fun brand to watch.

Nickelback is so much better. Was just making an observation, and a valid one at that. The way CFH creates shots and rotates a bench is very similar to how a hockey coach would exploit the opposition.

Well if you turn it over in your defensive zone in either hockey and basketball, it's usually bad news. But that's where the similarities end.

We've digressed. Didn't want to sling mud. I love the cyclones and was curious about the narrative. I realize that basketball and hockey are different, but its still getting an object into a net. I think sports philosophy's can carry over. Eric Spoelstra spent time with Chip Kelly and his football team before the 2011-2012 season to better understand spreading out the defense. I think hockey more closely translates to basketball than football.

For the record, I do agree with you on your observation. But, I have a reputation to uphold

Trolling, nobody thinks Nickelback is better than anything. Nobody.
