Hire for Timberwolves "GREAT" news for ISU fans...

ESPN is reporting that David Kahn is out as President and director of operations for the Minnesota Timber Wolves. Minnesota has hired Flip Saunders as President, Director of Operations and given him ownership.

Now that said, Rick Adelman is there and a very good coach. However, there's no mistaking that Flip Saunders is impressed with Fred. He coached him, he worked with him, and no Flips in a position that should he want, could hire Fred. Consider that Rick Adelmans wife has been dealing with seizures and ultimately that could lead him to not returning to the wolves....

If he chooses to leave the team during this offseason, i would assume that Flip could potentially come after Coach Hoiberg.....Hope its not true, just know how these things begin, a change here or there, and suddenly the dominos fall....

Just drove by Fred's house no moving truck. Yet............................

Could we get a mod to retitle the thread "Hire for Timberwolves is of really no consequence for ISU fans"?

It just seems to me that if CFH wanted to coach in the NBA...he could have just stayed with the Timberwolves...

Honk honk, Here comes the moving truck with the $5M contract salary in a fedex envelope.

Flip was a great coach for the Wolves. Still can't believe they ran him out.

Though good to see now he has the keys to the control. funny how things change.

While I don't agree with the opinion of the OP, I don't see a reason to change the title.

I think it's good news that other teams would be interested in Fred; it shows that he's doing something right.

Rick Adelman is a very good coach.

While I agree with the rest of the posters that this is typical CF over-the-top speculation, the T'Wolves could be on the hunt for a new coach in a few years if Adelman doesn't perform well next year or the one after with a healthy team. Right now though, I wouldn't worry about it.

I always thought Glen Taylor came down on the wrong side of McHale and Saunders little feud. McHale seems to be doing ok in Houston, but he was a ****** GM.

Fred will always have soft landings available if he decides to leave Ames, the only ISU fans this effects are those of us who also follow the T-Wolves, and we should be happy Flip's back in the fold.
