Did anyone else catch Hirbstreit holding back tears at the end of last nights game? I understand that OSU is his team but comeon ya got a job to do big fella!

I must have missed that as well. When I was watching him, I thought he handled himself very well. Gave a lot of credit to Florida, even saying that they would win 9 out of 10 played and the only win for OSU would be at OSU (kind of a joke). I thought Corso made a lot a lot of excuses for OSU. Saying that the 50 day lay off was a huge reason the game was how it was. Then he went on to congratulate Ron Zook (not Meyer) for the win b/c those where his seniors. I thought that was kind of poor IMO

That's what I saw on ESPN this morning as well. Thought Herb was very complimentary to UF and dug at OSU quite a bit.

Neither did I. Herbstreit was very critical of the preparation and execution of OSU. Very complimentary of the same from Florida. Didn't see any tears from him, but did see the baggy eyes. Looked like he had been up for 3 days straight.

And Corso sounded like a wreck last night. Tough to listen to at times, felt bad for him. He was right in giving some credit to the Zooker, nothing wrong with what he said about that. Zook did recruit those players, after all.

Good note. These guys work like dogs all season, traveling each week.

Then the bowl season happens. Used to be just 1 week or so. Now it lasts for nearly 3 weeks!

I'd have bags too if I had to cover that many games in so many locations. I'd enjoy it - but I'd be exhausted too.

Hirbstreit's one of my favorite football anouncers. Does a good job voicing an opinion and then giving a great explanation of why. Fairly objective too. He's got a great command of the game.

i agree. I really don't like Corso. have you noticed whenever he chooses his weekly saturday winner (via his infamous mascot head) its ALWAYS the home team no matter who is playing (even picked iowa to upset OSU). Talk about not having guts to upset the home crowd.

Ummm... I've seen him pick a visitor several times. Those are the best because it always pisses off the crowd.

Maybe in a few years ISU and Iowa will be ranked highly and they'll possibly do a gameday for them at Jack Trice or i'd even settle for Kinnick as long as the Cyclones were there.
