Herman getting mentions at PSU

Just saw this list of possible candidates for the Penn State job. Tom Herman gets some serious mention for this or another head coach job. Hope it is another job. From O'Brien's comments, it sounds like it wasn't much fun coaching there. Think the next guy will have just as much problem.

My guess would be Al Golden. O'Brien encountered resistance from PSU alum who wanted someone with a PSU connection. Head coaching success + Penn State connection.

Whether he wants to leave Miami I don't know but he is a fit at PSU.

I understand what you are saying but Golden played on the offensive side of the ball while Sandusky was a defensive position coach and Golden's one year as an assistant at PSU was after Sandusky retired.

If they are looking from someone with PSU connections and a good track record as a college HC this guy seems to fit that description and is about as far removed from the Sandusky mess as anybody with a PSU connection.

Dude deserves it imo. I'm thankful he came through ISU, and I'm sure Urban's glad he could scoop him up for a couple years. Idk if Penn State's the place but I can see him becoming a HC shortly.
