One of the negatives related to baseball is that the big market teams also tend to have a larger media following which in turn over-hypes the big market players and overlooks legitimate awards candidates from small market teams. It influences voting for both all-star selections as well as post-season awards. Put Felix in a situation like New York and he is the runaway winner.
