Ok. So my car is an 04 Alero and lately after every rainfall there is a decent amount of standing water. There is no sign were the water is coming from. I have vacuumed it out multiple times and also resealed the linings. Its like someone is dumping a bucket of water in my car. Does anyone have an idea were the water could be getting into my car? If so any suggestions to fix the problem would be appreciated! Thanks.

Btw waiting as long as possible before taking it into the shop.

my wife's old car had this start to happen...i think maybe the seal around the windshield leaked? I can't remember if it dripped from the top or leaked in the bottom and made its way to the floor that way

I guess I should've mentioned this is happening with the windows up lol

Resealed around the windshield and it is still happening.

Is it wet only after driving it or even if it's just sitting there? That sounds bad.

Wish you the best man... about 4.5 years back, my alero was parked outside a friends house while we went to the movies. During the movie a big thunderstorm came through and the road I was parked on had the storm sewers get backed up so the road flooded almost up to seat level. (Wasn't a drop of rain when we went into the movies).

Needless to say it was totalled as there's just no way to prevent it from molding inside at that point. Hope you have better luck.

Btw... did you check the trunk to see if it's wet in there?

That's awful... No sign of mold or smelling bad, so far. That's the only plus for the relatively cold spring and the trunk is dry as well.

OK, so no water in the trunk, no water on the headliner, only on the floorboards. Sounds like it's not leaking in from the door seal, the windows, or the rear window.

Might be the windshield in front. Might be a seal up there that's missing/damaged that's letting water in.

There is a moulding under the cowl designed to divert water running down from entering your fan motor housing. It falls off. It is very common and I see it all the time. Water gets in there and gets on the floor. It is a very poor design and I always glue these back on after working under there.

From an auto glass shop owner.
Hope this helps otherwise message me.
