I move into ames tomorrow for my first year of college and I decided to test the printer that im going to bring and surprise surprise it doesn't work so well. It will print internet documents aand everything else except for microsoft word documents. It is a HP deskjet D1420. When I go to print a word document it acts like its going to print it off but then it only spits out a blank page. What is the problem and how can I solve it?

Easiest solution is to throw it out and just print everything off in the labs on campus. I never even bother with a personal printer after Freshman year.

No doubt. I think business students get like 500 pages per semester or something like that. I was never even remotely close to using my alotment.

Google works wonders...

if its a new printer, take it back/call HP up and see what they say. It could be a simple setting problem that the HP people have dealt with before and it could be a quick fix.

its more than that...i wanna say 1500 for the year...someone correct me if i'm wrond, (IcSyU)?? I know you'll know this
If I followed you around correcting all your mistakes I'd never get anything done.

I'm pretty sure it's 1,800 pages for the year. I almost even used them all last year.
