OK, I'm in sudden need of a laundromat--or at least one or two dryers. Long story short, we had a new washer and dryer delivered from Lowe's today, and we're just now discovering our brand new dryer doesn't dry. Now I have two damp loads of clothes that need to be dried and no place to dry them!

I've checked the yellow pages and Google without any success. Anybody know of any place?

Used to be one in Colorado Junction near the intersection of Franklin and Lincoln Way in West Ames. Used to also be one up by the mall. I haven't lived in Ames for a few years but you might check there.

i thought there was one on lincoln way... like where burn 587 described.

Anybody know what it's called? I can't find it in the phone book or the internets. I live on the other side of town and would rather not drive over there if it's not open.

I'm just going to have to go out there and see, I guess.

For the record, I've lived in Ames for the better part of the last 12 years and can't think of a 24-hour laundromat anywhere in town. I'm amazed there wouldn't be at least one somewhere...

I used to google maps and did street view and I think it says Lincoln Way Laundromat. It's on colorado avenue, one block east of franklin. The one up in north grand was Spot Not. If I remember also there was one across from Monty's just off Hyland as well.

north ames south of where the old walgreens was at. Our dryer quit with a load of laundry yet in the washer. Asked our neighbor if they could help us out. Gotta appreciate nice neighbors!

Last resort, you can go into some apartment complex with community washers/dryers and use some change in those. (assuming you can get in there without a key or something)

Spot Not is still in the strip mall where Walgreens used to be I believe.

Success! The place at Colorado Junction is indeed called Lincoln Way Laundromat, and does appear to be open 24 hours. I tried Spot Not first--that was closed.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions!
