Myself and a couple of other (well behaved) Kansas State fans are going to be making the treck to Ames. We're looking at tickets and have decided to opt for the grass seats.

So I have a couple question:

Are those tickets horrible? Can you see anything? Would sitting there totally make the 14 hour round trip not worth it?

Those aren't likely to sell out, are they? Am I likely going to be able to waltz up to the ticket office on Saturday and buy them?

Thanks, and I look forward to a fun and hopefully injury free day of Big 12 football!

The hillsides are going to be a ridiculously cramped mess Saturday. I have my doubts you'll be able to buy them as walk ups but there will definitely be scalpers.

Sounds like they will be sold out by as soon as tomorrow. Good luck finding a ticket.

Hillside seating will likely sell out before Saturday. There's only a couple hundred left, as of late this morning.
If you get those seats you will want to sit on the south hillsides to have a better view of the video board.
You will want to get there early enough to see the field. If all of the fans show up that bought a ticket to this game, there will be a few hundred people that won't even be able to see the field. The place will be packed. If it's raining, you probably won't have to worry about it as much. The seats are good if you don't mind standing on a grass hillside with a poor view of the field, packed in like sardines. However, they are cheap and get you into the game.

If it rains, you won't like the hillsides!

The southwest hillside is the one next to the visiting section.

Thanks for the quick responses. I'll go ahead and get them tonight.

Side note: I just realized that I've been to every Farmageddon except 1 (05) since 2001. Seems crazy.

On second thought, I just talked it over with my group and I think we're going to try scalping.

We are trying to squeeze 60,000 into a 46,000 seat stadium for this game. I'd wait and come back in 2 years when our south end zone project is complete and the SEZ is bowled in.

Hillsides are very likely to sell out, get them asap. Thanks for making the trip, should be a great game. Despite the rankings I think this is a very good match up talent wise and can't wait to see how far Rhoads has come at creating a program very similar to Snyder's, mistake free and fundamental football.

If you do end up getting the tickets, I'd get there early and I'd suggest sitting on the south side so you'd at least have the jumbotron if you don't get a great view. You won't get much tailgating in, but maybe that's not your thing.

Just wanted to say hello, We are looking forward to our trip to Ames this weekend, it is the first time for both my husband and myself to Jack Trice Stadium. Here's to a dry and good game!

Speaking of hillside tickets... anyone know if it's cheaper to buy them online or directly at the ticket office? Are there fees still if you buy them in person or is it just $20? Just curious

There will be tickets available, but I'd get there very early and expect to pay quite a bit. It was hard to find a ticket for our first 2 home games. Scalpers had more available against TTU, but I doubt they'll have that many Saturday.

We've had top 10 attendence numbers for at least 2 games this year. For those games they never announced that they were within 500 of selling out.

No fees if you go directly to the ticket office. Bought one earlier today and it was $20. I believe its around $25 if you buy online with the fees.

This is what I thought, $5 is sadly a decent chunk of money to me at this point (hooray for being a poor college student) so I'll make it a point to get there in the AM tomorrow. Thanks!
